Scott Sommer – 2025 Inductee

by | Jan 6, 2026

Scott SommerScott returned to Fountain Hills with his Wife Ashley and two kids in 2012.

His first area of focus was within his home church at the time, Christ’s Church, where he served at the preschool, nursery, led a Bible study, and worked with the Pastoral Transition Committee.

Scott soon expanded his focus by serving on the Fountain Hills Leadership Academy Board, Vision Fountain Hills, Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce Board & Executive Team to include Chairman of the Board, Treasurer, and most recently, the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board.

Recently, Scott has taken on an active role in our local School District where his daughter is a Junior. Scott serves on the District Strategic Planning Committee, Calendar Committee, District Budget Committee and was a key individual on the most recent Bond Committee.

Scott also has joined his Son Patrick as they both volunteer at Church on Sunday Mornings in the video broadcast department. You can find Scott behind the camera, serving a small role to contribute to getting the service out to as many people as possible. Although it makes for some early Sunday mornings, he enjoys working with his son and instilling service to others as a core family value.

Through all of this service over the years, one stands out as his favorite; serving with Four Peaks Rotary Club. Scott joined the club in 2016 and has never looked back. Once joining, it wasn’t long before he was asked to join the Board of Directors. From there he was elected to be the Club President. Scott’s Presidency was one filled with challenges that he never anticipated.

From untimely deaths to navigating the Pandemic, he was negatively impacted by all of it. He has stated through the service and commitment of all the members, we came out on the other side, a stronger, more resilient club. Although only asked to serve as club president for one year, he ultimately stayed on for nearly two and a half.  Since completing his presidency, he has gone on to serve as an advisor to the new Rotary Club of the Verdes. Scott has since expanded his service to the entire Rotary District where he serves on the Finance Committee, Strategic Planning committee, Club Visioning Committee, and most recently, Assistant Governor for the Northern Arizona Clubs.

You can find Scott in and around the community regularly serving in various capacities. Whether it be collecting trash at the Art Fairs, working the Chamber Information Booth, cleaning out storage sheds at the theater, you can find him, often times with Ashley and their two children, which he encourages to be active as well.
