Linda Ferington – 2025 Inductee

by | Jan 6, 2026

Linda FeringtonLinda grew up and went to school in Queens, New York. She graduated from New York Technological School in Brooklyn with a degree in nursing. She worked in hospitals for several years and then joined the Peace Corps in 1965 in a medical capacity in Chile for two years. Upon returning Linda worked in out-patient nursing. In 1987, Linda and her husband Jim moved to Arizona, finally settling in Fountain Hills in 1988.

Linda’s first involvement with her new community was to join the local Fountain Hills Community Theater, starting with acting in several plays and then transitioning to stage managing, props and production aspects. Additionally, she served on the FHCT Board of directors, acting as vice-president for many years. In 1990 she joined the Welcome Wagon, greeting new residents and providing them with information about our community.

Linda worked with Steve Gendler at the Marshall’s department as receptionist and performing other small tasks. She volunteered as a “purple person” for our Art Fairs for many years.

Linda began volunteering at McDowell Mountain Elementary School in 2010, which she continued doing for over ten years, while raising her grandson, Christopher. Currently, she is still on the Theater Board and still acting as stage manager for Youth and Mainstage productions. Linda has a special love for our Youth Theater and enjoys watching young performers gain confidence in themselves, learn to work as a team, and learn about the dedication and hard work it takes to succeed.

Linda looks forward to continuing to be involved with our local performing arts theater and as a teacher’s aide. She feels very fortunate to live in Fountain Hills and to be a part of our beautiful community.
